I had a coolant leak on my 2000 astro. Simple fix just clamp on the lower hose. I thought the whole system was drained after I fixed it so I filled it with green coolant. I was wrong 2 gallons of dexcool was still in the system.

I only ran the van about 10 minutes on idle with the mixture. Drained radiator and engine block am I safe to put dexcool back in without a major flush?

Since you probably have no good idea of the current concentration, it would be a good time to procure a small anti-freeze tester. They are not expensive, and then you can add coolant or water to the desired protection.

I switched mine over during a radiator change. The only possible draw back would be the water pump seal. In order to circumvent this I also replaced the water pump. Then in white ink I wrote NO DEX COOL . Green only. You should be fine just watch the pump seal.

Just use your favorite long life anti-freeze and be happy. I wouldn't stress too much about it.
