I had to pull a seat to remove the doghouse and do a tune up on my 2002 so I decided to re-drill the 8 holes where the power seat track bolts to the base. I just made a cardboard template and shifted the holes back about 2". I had to slot and bend down about 3/4" of the edge of the cross brace that goes between the two base rails for stud and nut clearance but otherwise no big deal. I still have to bend my left knee while driving but it is no longer un-comfortable.

I'm 6'2" and have logged over 400k miles in the drivers seat of these vans, have never like I needed more room, and love how comfortable they are. Only vehicle I've owned that I don't get drivers butt after spending forever behind the wheel.

I should do this too. I'm 6ft even, but I would like sit back a little further as my left knee always cramps up on longer trips.

I am about 6'2 and 275 pounds. I drive all day every weekday as a sales rep. The bent left leg from resting my foot on the hump in the floor is what really bugged me. I can put my foot between the brake pedal and the hump to straighten my knee but that wasn't comfortable for long.

I'm over 6' and have monkey legs and monkey arms (good for spark plug changes) and I am very comfortable in mine. I think what everyone "maybe" over looking here is the Power Seat feature you have.

This might be the reason why you don't have as much leg room (seat travel) as non power seat drivers have. Maybe it's positioned differently to accommodate the power seat accessories. Just a thought.:)

I always remount my seats back a couple of inches in all of my vans , it gives me more room to get my dog house off , then when i get ready to drive i slide it all the ways forward and my feet touch the pedals perfect , I'm 5'8"

I have power seats and the drivers seats goes back so far it binds the seatbelt so it can't retract when you remove it. you either have to adjust the seat every time or push it back just enough so the belt will retract when released. That's usually what I do unless I'm on a long trip.

Shouldn't have to remove a seat just to remove the doghouse. I've a 92 and I'm 6'2" and I have no difficulty getting the doghouse off. Besides, I made a trip from Arkansas back to Montana with no discomfort.

Wow, I thought I was the only one with a Chevy Astro and Ford Explorer haha. It's a small world after all.

I would love to move my seats a bit back. I can get the doghouse off (barely) with the seats all the way back, but working on the engine is very difficult to do at times.

Thinking of adding more leg room on my passengers side for who ever sits over there my friends complain there is not enough room and that their legs cramp up, does anyone have any suggestions, I don't have any thing to weld with so welding is not an option for me, I would like to try to get at least 3-4 more inches of space on the passenger side.
