Please someone stop the pain and tell me what worked on their swap for both the headers and mounts without having to molest the van to make it fit.
Put in a 5.7 350.. more cubes, more torque, less pain.
They drop right in! Everything bolts up! Everything fits too!
That's "my suggestion" if you want less pain, and more bang for the buck.

Last post I saw I guy spent over a year putting an LS in his van.. but NEVER got the A/C in, and he sold it. The guy he sold it to was trying to sell or trade it months later, for a "normal" V8 van with A/C. I had to chuckle... https://www.astrosafari.com/viewtopic.php?f=68&t=139750

Sorry, not the answer you were looking for...

Here's the LS build (that was never finished)
(Maybe something here that can help you)

Did anyone figure out if these mounts will work on an AWD van? Trying to make a decision in the next couple days. Was going to buy the oil pan and awd mounts from JTR, but am not sure if this is a better option. I like that these ones from the OP are a little cheaper and include the rubber.

You just have to realize... welding isn't for everyone (not everyone has a welding machine either). Many like a simple "bolt-on" solution if it works. But these bolt-on solutions sometimes have limitations too... some matter, some don't.
It definitely isn't, and I wish more people realized what Dirty Harry said best: "A man has got to know his limitations."

As much of a welder as I am, I really would like to make the upcoming V8 conversion on our Astro as reversible as it can be. But I also don't like adapter brackets. It's a tough call. Welding might win out.

You really don't need to buy mounts for a V8 swap.
I'm here to ask the dumb questions. I am unfamiliar with how all of this lays out and, so I don't know what I don't know.

If I were to weld in the plate as prescribed to extend the engine mount tower on the driver side, AND FOR SOME UNKNOWABLE REASON wanted to go back to original with the 4.3, would the welded-on extension be in the way of anything?

I know--it's inconceivable what I would want to change back. I'm just asking the question because I like the idea of reversibility on this project. I have irreversibly modified so many cars in my life, and I have experienced some hot rodder's guilt at times.

Has anyone even tried these yet? They are listed for the S-10 4wd, but if they match the picture on jegs they sure look different than the JTR Astro AWD mounts.
I'm going to unsticky this for now, until someone confirms that they will actually work.

Transdapt s-10 4wd mounts:
