Picked my van up from east ridge transmissions on saturday. $1744.00 out the door. Corvette torque converter, corvette servo, 5pinion planetary, heat treated sunshell, and late model drum which holds more clutches. I like everything but the clunking from 2-3 shift. They told me to drive it about 1000 miles and if I'm not content to bring it back. I got a 1yr/25k nationwide warranty!

Very rarely have I ever seen (or heard) a clunk that went away with more driving. I'm surprised they would say that. Hopefully that clunking is nothing serious.

I do have a v8 sitting in front of that transmission. It is a stout trans now. I lost 3rd,4th, and o verdrive a month ago. Couldn't decide what to do with the van. So finally I decided to get it rebuilt. And to astro355, I agree on the clunking. Its odd cause its the 2-3shift. Not 1-2.

I also don't know why when I post something from my blackberry, that it duplicates or triplicate my posts! Sorry folks!
Don't worry about it. I fixed it with my super moderator powers!

I would just hate to have that clunk turn into something else.

I second astro355 statement, sounds like something that should have never left the shop!!!!!

I would drive it to a box shop aamco cottman etc and get a free diagnosis maybe there was something missed in the nut and bolt (install review) portion of the repair. I would not feel confortable waiting 1000 miles to find out more damage was done to other areas of my drive line due to the overhaul.

Watch out for the oops we broke it/ screwed it up -but gonna up sell more to ya scam, Get it checked ASAP and document your findings by letter and or written estimates!
