I am currently in Spokane.

I tried to escape the MONSOON weather by heading West.

It did NOT work ... still raining here.

I will be wandering around Washington for a few more days before pointing my AWD SAFARI MICRO MOTORHOME South /West.

If any one in Washington has a few spare parts to sell or trade, I have CA$H and a pair of brand new MOOG AWD IDLER ARMS as trade.
Looking for:
- GOOD condition front seats, with the arm rests and the lumbar adjustments, Grey preferred. Also the rt front seat bt retainer (12" section tgat bolts at the left side).
- factory CD PLAYER
- spare AWD TRANSFER CASE encoder motor
- spare fuel pump
- the SHORTER A/C lines for the vans without rear A/C

CA$H OR TRADE?

Living the dream ...
Life on the road in my AWD MICRO motorhome.
Just checkin in.
(;-)

I just spent a few days in Washington visiting with friends, and am now headed South East to DENVER for the two day SELF RELIANCE EXPO, Nov 4/5.

Currently I am in Oregon, at DEAD MAN PASS for the night.

Lots and lots of FOG ... so not much fun driving at night.

Interesting drive today through Mt Rainier park ... one of those proverbial "roads less travelled" that I love. Saw some snow at the higher elevations, and I absolutely /definitely / for sure, stayed within the speed limit the whole way. Some of the time the limit was 30 mph, and believe me, with only two lanes, tight corners, melting snow, no guard rails, and drop offs to infinity just across the narrow shoulders, that was fast enough for me.

The Duratrac tires and AWD were exactly what I wanted here.

The motorhome is snug and warm, and since I added 1 1/2" of memory foam to the existing 4" foam mattress, a real pleasure to sleep in.

Eventually I will l head to Arizona and Tuscon and the cross over to Mexico.

But for now, just ramblin round the US of A.

Currently in Arizona, mostly in an around Tucson till after American Thanksgiving. Doing a bit of final prep work before crossing into Mexico ... installing new fuel pump, finishing interior and exterior trim, off loading/storing some of the "too many heavy" things I won't need.

Still looking for a set of good front seats in ARIZONA. GREY LEATHER with the armrests and adjustable lumbar support would be perfect.

The AWD CLASS C MICRO MOTORHOME SAFARI van weighs in at 6500 lbs fully loaded, and about 6000 with minimal gear. At that 6500 lbs, pushing a 7' high by 7' wide box through the air, best mileage is at 55 mph, about 12.5 mpg. Not too bad for the "BLACK TORTOISE", which is carrying me and EVERYTHING I own inside the shell.

Picked up a motorcycle escort, Cynthia, riding her BMW GS650, who plans to accompany me through Mexico.

Life IS good,
And the WAYWARD WANDERER lifestyle is fantastic.
Serendipity surpruses await just around the next corner
( like the five massive ELK I nearly became intimate with goung over Wolf Creek Pass ... about 8000 ' elevation, snowing, just before dusk).

My brand new PREMIUM front brakes, Duratrac 235/15 tires, and longer range head lights prevented my needing the "Cow Catcher" in front, but it was close.

From Washington State to Denver Colorado, to Flagstaff, and now Tucson Az. Will be in Tucson till after thanksgiving, then SOUTH!!!

The AWD Safari Micro Motorhome is running GREAT ... gas mileage is acceptable for a 6500 lb, 7'x7' SQUARE BOX being thrust through the air at hiway speeds. Cruising at 75 mph on good surface roads is smooth and solid, but you CAN feel the semis pass. Cruising at 55 mph is more sedate, and better to enjoy the scenery.

I have nick named the rig,
THE BLACK TORTOISE.

We make progress slowly, but we get there eventually, and like a tortoise, I AM CARRYING EVERYTHING I OWN along with me.

Looking forward to Mexico, Belize, and possibly point further South,

Awesome progress. I like the name and the pun intended. I was just in Belize this past February. You will love it down there. Super friendly people and awesome scenery.

Any pictures though? You know how we like our pictures...
