I got an 89 astro lt, the power mirrors worked last time I drove it in the fall but I had it out today and they are not, neither side works, I could not find a fuse, I looked in the panel under the dash, nothing there, are there any other fuse/relay panels I don't know about, I looked around the battery and there is nothing there, I checked the wires in the door jam, (I had door panel apart to fix the pwr locks). I need help please.

I've got the same problem with mine except mine have never worked.(92' EXT) I used my test light at the mirror end and the control end and have no power. All other accessories work. I have done some wiring repair(from front to back harness) because previous owner did some really great jerry rigging on it!! I'm assuming that it is in the dash somewhere just got to take the time crawl under there. I'd say test for power at switch and at mirror with a test light. Hopefully someone will chime in for some help. I also didn't find a fuse for it. I'm assuming the aux power is the same. Good luck!!!

Hi Vanadian

Their is an orange (power supply) wire that runs from the drivers side mirror switch to the fuse panel under the dash. With that orange wire, their is an in line 3 amp fuse (located just above the fuse panel) that could have blown.

If the fuse looks fine then check the 30amp HORN/DM fuse and the 10 amp INST LPS fuse. Also check the Black ground wire that runs from the drivers side switch to the Bus Bar Ground at the Convenience Center which plugs in at the side of it marked 150-3.0 BLK. Hope this helps. Please keep us updated, Thanks.:)

PS: Yours will be similar stoneground1. :)

OK, I found that when I got checking things out that the inline fuse for the power mirrors was missing, I figure that someone needed a fuse over the winter. Now my p mirrors work all but the passenger left and right, any suggestions where to start to look, maybe broken wires in the door jam? I haven't had time yet but will be checking it out in the morning. Thanks for the help.

I had problems in the past with broken wires in the door jambs and all you need to do is replace the wire with some good wire that has a flex technology to help prevent from future wire breaks.

Have you took apart the dash in the last year and maybe disconnected the mirror controller?

Yes, The door jam would be the place to check for broken wires with your passenger mirror as already mentioned.:)
