Hey guys I just got another Astro the other day. Had one on bags years ago when just having bags meant you were balling. Anyhow I got a 92 shorty and need to figure out how to setup the rear suspension to clear 11" wide Lamborghini wheels. I know I may need to mini tub it which isn't too big of a deal. The problem is the leaf springs. I need to move the bars (2 link, 4 link?) to the inside of the frame rails to get the clearance. What do you weld the front mount too? How have you cleared the gas tank since it sits just forward of the axle? I thought of sectioning out a few inches to offer clearance for bars. Any ideas would be great. Just got it and the wheels are sitting just begging to be put on the van.

Unfortunately, you would have to move the fuel tank. The leaf springs would then be welded to the body rails (or inside of them depending on how you wanted to set it up). That's if you wanted to keep the leaf springs.

Using a 2 link setup with a panhard bar (Firebird, Camaro, etc) or a 4 link setup (Grand National, Mustang) would require less space so gas tank relocation MAY not be necessary but there is a lot more work going into that setup. AstroAustin has some pics of his setup that may prove to be helpful.
