Hello~

I stumbled upon this site accidentally and I'm glad I did. Just bought a 1988 Astro 2wd, 6cyl for $400. It's in decent shape for the price. I am enjoying driving it. It has a couple issues that I need to figure out a remedy for. The heater/ac only blows thru defrost and when I come to a complete stop it idles a little rough but not real bad. Also have not located the power steering pump to check the fluid.

Does anyone know how hard it is to remove the "doghouse" engine hoousing inside the van? I'm not really mechanically inclined but I think I should check the vacuum connections? Any advice is gratefully appreciated. Oh, I removed the 2nd rear seat for more room and it says "center only". I guess the previous owner mixed them up. What is the reason for a special center seat? Thanks and Hi!

Have a Great weekend!

My advice would be to go and purchase a Haynes or Chiltons service manual. The parts break down views are excellent in both of them, and they are under $20! These are very dependable vehicles, if properly serviced and maintained! I have owned three since they were brought out on the market in 1985. The manuals give you a step by step and are definitely worth the $$$!
Good Luck.
B.W. :)
