Receiving a 1989 Astro for FREE from a friend within the next 2 days..I do not know much about it at this time.

What I know: Its shorter than usual?, Don't remember what its called. It has NO side glass other than the driver and pass door...........and that's about it haha.

Will be finding out more later.

Needs tires, and a battery (which I already have a couple of spare batteries)

I have been reading the forum all night so far, and it seems like you are a good group of people.

I hope I am welcome, and hope to start on cleaning and modding this Astro up!

I cannot find any website that sells parts.....I don't trust Ebay, and it looks like ?overland? has not been around, or very active?

Does anyone know any good sites for parts??

I don't know, I've always been a bolt on/Mustang guy.

Done some mods, but nothing too big, I can weld?

I needed a new project, the van was offered, I found a forum, and now I love Astros haha

I also have a "shorty", love its profile especially when I jack up the back with
more air in the air shocks. I think it gives it that 70's vanner look!

Also, I love the profile over the loss of space. Why? Because a hitch and a extend-a-shelf
cure whatever space needs you would have in there anyways!

I get this astro and whamo!!! Its hard to think of anything else! As seen here on this forum
there are just so many possibilities!
