Hey,

I'd like to introduce myself. I'm Björk, I lurked on the old forum here and there. I'm located in Prince George, British Columbia, Canada. I've got a 1997 Gmc Safari awd. Its undergone a few minor changes. I have a 3" exhaust with a dynomax hi flow on it. Tinted windows, piaa bulbs, stereo. As of tomorrow it will have some American Alloy 058s on it as well. I've been dying to do a fuel injected v8 swap unfortunately I lack the mechanical knowledge or skill:p i have a picture of my beast I just don't know where to host it. Hopefully I'll be able to get some new pictures of it with the new shoes as well.

You don't need to host it anywhere. Use the upload attachment capabilities of the forum. We like PICS!

Theres some pics guy! I managed to figure out the upload feature. I just got the rims put on today. Turned out pretty good. Now I just wanna do a 4" overland vans lift with 31"s and a 350 fuel injected vortec swap. Unless you guys have any cheap go fast mods for the 4.3 l?

Didn't have a problem with the dynamat at all it went in like butter. Just make sure its not cold as its more workable. As for your front end I dunno about that I live a fair distance away. So what have you guys been doing for some performance modifications? I wanna get some more jam out of this sucker.

So far I've done a Gibson Catback Exhaust, Volant Cold Air Intake, Removed the screen in the M.A.F... suspension wise, bilstein shocks, aftermarket rear sway bar, 18" American racing torqlite rims with bfg tires. Also you can lighten the load, whatever seats you dont use, take out. I have never used the rear seat, so that just stays at home unless I need it.

Of course a few members I am sure will tune in with there V8 swap.

By any chance do you have a part number for the volant cold air intake or for the aem one? How much did it set you back? How big of a difference did the sway bars make? As for the seats I usually have both benches out and just keep the van filled with my tools. Currently I do have the middle bench in though.

The Volant intake I got was from here off ebay, thats the cheapest your gonna get it, not sure if they will ship to Canada though:

The rear sway bar I got from Stillen.com, there are a few other companies that make there versions as well, and yes it helps out and is really easy to install. I always leave my middle bench in for the "just incase." I actually sold my rear seat months ago.

I'll get some pictures in a month or so of the updated interior. For now I will give you a breakdown of the setup:
I have a simple Aiwa Headunit, 6.5 Infinity's in the front, 6x9 Infinity's in the rear, Polk Momo 4x6 Plates in the rear pillars, Eclipse amp under the drivers seat, and 8" subwoofer in the center console.

The plan is for everything to be "stealth." As much as I like showing stuff off... parking at the G.F's in North East DC would be a terrible idea. So the revisions to be made are, Jvc KD-AVX2 headunit (3.5" LCD, MP3), bullet rear view camera hooked to headunit, possibly smoothing the rear doors out and getting rid of the 6x9's, the center console will most likely house my old 10" Polk Momo sub (downfiring), and I am possibly thinking about mounting the amp on one of the walls with a cover. But before I do all that I will be swapping the carpet out for a black set, and dynamating the entire van. I'm thinking I am a month or so out from doing all that... I have alot of house crap I'm doing right now, building a guestroom/office, and a workshop outside.

Sounds Nice. I would love to see pictures of the center console box. I've got 6.5" Infinity Kappa components in the front, 4x6 Kappas in the rear pillars, and 6.5" Kappas in the rear doors. I also have two 10" Kappas built into the rear doors. My amps are housed on racks built into the rear windows. On the Rear passenger side I have my Infinity 4 channel speaker amp and the driver side is my Infinity 1211A with my capacitor. I also have dynamat right through out the entire van. I'm contemplating building a console up front to give me more boom boom. When I get back from out of town i'll take some pictures of the interior mind you its very dirty from work.
