Does the newer stereos from GM vehicles fit in a 1.5 DIN slot on a 94 Astro AWD LT.
I dont care much for the look on the newer stereos available today, but i would like to have CD.

Anybody?

Easier to go with an aftermarket stereo than trying to retrofit in my opinion. Nice aftermarket units can be had foras low as $100 new, even cheaper at the pawn shops (but usually without warranty or instructions).

And I don't think it looks good with a 1 DIN stereo in the slot.

All the new stereos are so flashy.
It doesn't really fit in with the lo-fi interior of the astro, in my opinion.

Do the newer stereos from GM vehicles play Mp3 ?
I really liked my stock stereo in my 2002 Astro except it did'nt play mp3s , sounded awsome though!

Eh, to each his own. I stuck an aftermarket unit in mine and like it. It doesn't look radically out of place to me. But that's the whole thing of personalization! I do understand what you're saying though, I could get a Pic of mine if'n ya wanna see how mine came out.

My '93 has a factory unit with a CD. Look on eBay or in a junkyard for a 1.5 DIN CD unit for a '92-'93-'94 Astro or Blazer.

Cost is more than what I have in mine, but it is factory!

I don't know where the change is from year to year across the gm line, but you get one too new, they run on the class II databus, and wouldn't work.

I was at u pull it today and you would be amazed how many astros are there !!!
If you need a stereo i'm sure you could find one there !
Out of what year van did you want the stereo out of ?

Can you post some pictures of what u have put in yours?

Maybe its easier and cheaper to go with an aftermarket stereo after all.
But there must be some 1 DIN stereo out there that doesn't look like a laser show, yet still have the features of today.
