What's up with that Steeler offense? :banghead:

The problem with the Steelers is trying to get the offensive line to actually show up for the game. Of course, last week they did seem to do their job, but Ben took too long to get rid of the ball. Apparently, ten seconds isn't enough time to find a receiver and throw the ball. Let alone the backup snapper that never snapped a ball before in his life.
I wish we could see footage of what went on in the secondary as a play developed that turned into a sack - especially during a game in which a qb becomes drastically ineffective during an extended series of possessions. It's really hard to tell from a single perspective how much of the problem comes from the line, the qb or the receivers. It is very hard to believe that no receiver could get open enough to throw the ball his way for so many plays in a game! Scarily reminiscent of the Joe Walton era
That snap was laughable - he actually pulled the ball up off the ground & stretched his arms out towards the defense to get more leverage before launching it!
Oh well.

There were so many things that worked against the Steelers in that game. Sacks, injuries to the defensive backs and the punter, inexperience of the backup players, it just got ugly real fast. We were actually doing good early in the game, as the Giants couldn't even get a touchdown.

On again about the Steelers, they just inched past to beat their toughest opponent yet this season:the officials. Now not all of the calls were bad, some of the holds were blatently obvious, but the interference call in the 1st and the illegal forward pass in the last seconds were both totally bogus. The interference call gaved the Chargers 30 yards and set them up perfectly for a touchdown. It should have been called on San Diego. I think some of the officials had money riding on the game and needed the score to be close.

I guess calls like those are why the Steelers lead the league in apologies from the officials.

& those fines against Ward a few weeks ago - for plays that drew no penalties pn the filed? Football used to be a contact sport.
The Steeler offense is just anemic right now - all the more credit to a huge defensive effort week after week! You gotta be able to score at least a TD/half to be a legitimate playoff contender...
They're hanging in there, though
