I just got an extra transmission cooler in stalled, and changed the fluid in the front and rear differentials (its AWD)

The electric brake controller goes in tomorrow.

What do you think about an additional oil cooler? Has anyone seen a need for that?

I've had lots of 'stro's in the shop that are loaded up with tools, etc. and nothing more than the factory oil cooler. Seemed to be enough.
But, as nitropyro said, it can't hurt!

Michael, hope you get this...i tow a 5000 lb. travel trailer and even with a fan forced perma-cool trans cooler the temps start climbing when i hit the usual 6 % grade where i go...highest i've seen with cooling has been about 220 degrees...and with increased trans temps the water temp starts going up...i have now installed a perma-cool pusher fan in front of the other half of the radiater...it is new so can't tell you how well it is going to work...i have both switched so both come on at the same time....you can do an on-line search for "trans. temps"...it is scary how fast fluid goes bad at higher temps...i try to keep mine as low as possible...do not believe winter temps cool it too much...my vote? do it....

This year I started monitoring my tranny temperature while towing - with a scan tool. When not towing, the tranny temperature was the same as the engine, at about 195 DegF. On my first camping trip, while towing a 3500 lb pop-up camper, when it was 70 DegF outside I saw the tranny temp settle around 210 DegF, and it even peaked out at 230 DegF. I did not like that, so I put in a 24000 Lb Hayden tranny cooler. When towing with the tranny cooler temp did not exceed 160 degF. I was most impressed.

I too did have a concern about the winter performance with a tranny cooler, but the tranny shop where I got the cooler swore up & down that this would not be an issue. We will see. Happy so far. :D
