I'm going to remove the cladding on the 98, never did like all that plastic hanging all over it. The bumpers will still be "pewter", so need painted. Anyone know what to use to prep and paint the bumpers? I've been spraying lacquer for years, (furniture) so I have spray gun experience, just don't know what to use on automotive plastic.

I'm no painter but...
I had my ground effects shot by "an expert" and the first time they rubbed going up a ramp, the paint cracked.
That shouldn't happen
I took them off, stripped them to bare plastic or urethane or whatever that material is. Then sprayed some adhesion promoter folowed by primer folowed by base coat folowed by clear. All this with ppg automotive paint. Automotive paints nowdays have flex agents in them since most vehicles now have plastic parts. Now I know what was sprayed on them.
I will mount them again...and will stay away from that darn ramp!!
One thing: It's not cheap to do it right, but I think it's worth it. Paint shouldn't crack if done correctly. I will soon find out.
