Could there be a possibility that my 1996 express van has no passlock I or II , i took the column apart and the only wires coming from the key lock cylinder are 2 wires for the door open chime , plus i turned the key to the on /run position and there was no security light on the dash , I'm just wondering if there could be a security feature that i'm not aware of !

95's and 96's were changeover years for seurity, and most do not have.

Check the key for PK1 or PK2 engraved in it. If it isn't there, and with what you stated, I would say it doesn't have.

Makes remote start a heck of a lot easier to install!
