As I scan through a lot of the threads on here,I'm running into a lot of "initial" type names and other part names I'm not familiar with,(like PCM,ICM,ABS..whatever..) for parts people are discussing without knowing what they are,where they might be found on the vehicle,what their function is,etc..etc(especially electrical/emissions ones)..It would be nice to have somewhere to go to find out what people are discussing ..and where to find it..could be the piece someone might need to check out,fix,or look for..pictures in place? (Okay..so that's what that part lQQks like!)
Having something set up to click on alphabetically could save a lot of time searching through a lot of threads,easy to add to,etc..
Just a suggestion..you guys are doing a great job as it is!(Picture me bowing in gratitude to the ASTRO-GEEK GODS!)
I'm trying to extend my limited knowledge on these vans,mostly by checking threads/posts that I may run into similar problems on my vans and what to do about them ..but getting lost at times with tech names..Thanks..

Factory manuals have a lot of the abbreviated names listed also.
For reference, the Rock Auto catalog also has a lot of pictures of components
You can start the thread and I would bet many would contribute photos etc.

Well..Unfortunately the POS brand (or IBM..take your pick) computer I'm using doesn't allow much of anything for me as to taking pictures and ways to process them,writing things up(other than posts here) and what I have isn't so great for taking pictures,and loading of things..besides me not knowing what I'm taking pictures of..why I made the suggestion in the first place.
My computer just dumped me again when I tried to open the link for here.It's a perpetual fight I have with the thing and eventually a dumpster will win overall.
I have the cheaper APS manuals ,which is a good idea but at times they aren't as helpful as they should be and trying to find things in them is complicated at times..Why I search the forums for help.
Hmm..Rock Auto..good idea..I have looked up parts there that I have bought lately and made my choices..then try to get back here with the ^%$%^& computer that likes to drop me more than let me get to where I was trying to get back to.
Anyway..It was just a suggestion..I hope you understand .
I would also think that a "thread" style post might not work too well verses something setup alphabetical to do a quick search through..which is beyond my computer skills. I guess doing a search for something and going through a lot of threads still works..

Google does a pretty good job. That being said a list would be great.

I mean, google will get you there, and virtually every manual will have what they use for acronyms and abbreviations. I have a list here but without pictures and locations, maybe I will add something like that in the future Astro-Safari-Info - Acronyms Abbreviations and Symbols

There once was such a list, I suppose it fell by the wayside during a transition somewhere along the line.
