Neutral and ground are the same once you hit the service panel

I know, I know. But I like to keep "the hot side hot and the cold side cold" until they join in the box. I'm not above cheating on that point when I have been forced to, such as wiring a motion switch at my employer's previous building; no ground was present, and one was necessary for the switch, so hey, look, a "white ground." Old building, no third wire.
