So I have a stock 1997 rwd astro van and I want to lower the rear end a little bit but I Dont want to buy any aftermarket products I was wondering if its possible to take 1 spring out of the total 3springs so I would have a leaf that consists of 2 springs but can still handle the weight of the van :2:

Sure its possible, but you will need a spacer to take up the slack in the "clamshell" otherwise your axle will be floating around. So lets say you will need two pieces of metal, 6"x2.5"x3/8" approx. with a hole in the center to slap in place of the spring you remove. Or cut the spring with a plasma or cutting wheel.

If you remove a leaf it won't handle the weight it will just sag and ride like crap. You would need to buy different leaves.
You might be able to drill the shackle or the front perch. You will need to get under and look.
