I put the engine in after replacing the rear main along with other gaskets and seals, and now it won't start no fuel, so I kept messing with it and then noticed most of my engine oil is now on the ground. The rear main must have pinched or something when I put it in. Man, I am so pissed. I am going to remove just enough to lift it and replace the seal again, then drop it back in. Now if this was still rear-wheel drive it would be easier, but no I had to change it.

o_O A different engine to fix an RMS, that's what my mechanic always recommends. ;)

Hard to keep track with so many different threads, what engine is this? With most of the oil on the ground just from attempting to start, damn. Missing an oil galley plug?

This is a used 350 I bought when the other engine broke. I agree, too many to list. That is why I am going to rebuild/overhaul a vortec and put it in and be done with it. But I need my van for this fall/winter The oil is coming from right under the flywheel cover, I guess it may be an oil galley plug. I will know tomorrow after I get under the van and pull the cover and starter.

Make sure it's not the oil sender leaking from above

So the engine out and sitting on the ground with the chain still on it. Turns out, the oil pan gasket is pinched right below the rear main seal. So I will fix it in the morning and hopefully drop it back into the van right after. I must have missed it when I put it together. Either way, I have both gaskets in my box of parts from when I started this venture on the engine.

Turns out I must have hit the rear passenger side of the oil pan when I installed the engine last, and it caused the pan to shift just enough to cause a leak in the oil pan gasket. So I took it off the engine and using body tools I fixed the small dent. I ordered a new oil pan gasket and I have a rear main seal kit, so when the gasket comes in I will put it back together and put it back in. Should be here next Tuesday/Wednesday.
