I have no problem with older ones and could certainly do them I just think newer ones are more marketable. I have restored many vehicles and found any time you can specialize in one you can do better, repetition creats efficiency it's the same theary as an automotive assembly line, the vans have changed very little since they came out requireing less setups for working on them saving time and money, and the surplus of parts that would build up would also cut cost, the vans are perfect for all these reasons plus the comercial market that uses them is huge. I also like the S10 and would be doing them from time to time I have one in my shop now getting a full resto, but I have been watching the economy too and the 50% unemployment rate has me worried so I think for now I will sit back and see how far this recession is going which will probably push me towards my other option "Sustainable Energy" and turning homes Green....with the fuel crisis predicted I am leaning heavily this way, but it is just hard to get the "motor head" out of my head..If hybrid powertrains were available I would be considering doing conversions the vans are too heavy for electrics but I have been working on a plan for an electric Model A pickup it would be rellativly easy to convert, new bodys and chassis are readily available,it could get 0-60 times around 7 seconds have a 100 mile range between charges and it would look cool as hell. of course the safety ratings would be poor they don't do well in a crash but then I would be doing my part to help the over population crisis
