Posting from a stop along hwy 55, headed north from Memphis.

Started out in St. Petersburg Florida... Van was waiting for me after another boat delivery.

The new motor just begs to be run, so I packed up and headed out... 480miles to pensacola yesterday...

Today I drove from Pensacola through Alabama, up through Mississippi, into Tennessee,
Into Arkansas.....I a few hours (if i can get some sleep) I will continue north to St. Louis and see about turning left,,,, we will see.

Some might recall my similar trip I took last year. That one ended up at about 7,200 miles.

Supertramp had a song I really like... :)

Pictures to follow.

If anyone is interested, you can see my current location on my SPOT satellite tracking map here. Never mind the reference to sailing, I mostly use this for work.

I hit the "I am ok" button when I start each day, or cross a state line. I hit the "message" button when I stop.

Here is what it looks like right now;

The dots close together are the last coupe days of the boat delivery I was on... My package only displays the last 7 days worth of data.

50 miles out of Kansas City, hurricane headed to where Emerald Tide is docked (Newbern, nc).... Exactly 1000 miles in the wrong direction.... Would add 2,000 miles to the trip....

Van running great anyway..

But New Bern is nice  I do have boat racing friends there, actually.

So make the trip and protect your boat.

Thankfully I had no damage from the storm. I had a friend check on the boat and prepair it.

Trip is going great! Stopped over in Utah to attend my first "Rainbow Gathering" (not a gay rainbow, more of a hippy rainbow)...

click here for a cool 2 minute video of what I saw.

Very cool! I highly recommend you attend one of these!

I was driving through Mississippi when the van ticked over 200,000 miles. The new motor was not due for an oil change for another 500 miles or so, but I pulled over at an auto parts store and changed the oil in the we parking lot anyway.... Just wanted to get it changed at 200,000 :)

What gets me is that you were changing the oil while doing 80 in an auto parts store parking lot

Was there also nekkidness with this 80 mph parking lot oil change? That would add a whole 'nother level of complexity, lol.

Thanks for sharing the Rainbow video.

So, a year later and the adventure continues!

I plan to spend Father's Day with my dad, and get on the road on Monday.

Driving from Marin country CA to Fl.... Then up to a family function in MA....

I have put a bunch of miles on the new motor since I repowered it...

Just did an oil change, getting a new cat installed today.

I hope I have my problem with the MAF / O2 sensor fuse resolved.... It was causing a variety of codes and blowing the ECM fuse....

Hope to see some of you in the highways, waive if you see me!

ho, how I miss Alamo CA.... Lucky you. Check rad hoses, and your AC stuff. You know how hot and humid its going to be on that trip, I don't have to tell you. But a reminder is always nice. Houston has been in the low 90's this week, and after the rain we just had it's going to be nasty humid. ALMOST as bad as Georgia, but not quite... Safe travels!! :driving:
