Hey Everyone,

What's everybody think about a Road Trip category on the website? A place where the users can post their vehicles in action, give trip reports about where they traveled, camped etc etc. Good Idea/ Bad Idea?

Its a horrible idea. It'd make me wanna quit my job and hit the road and see the country. Lol. I'd love to see the campgrounds other stay at. And the food they prepare☺

Just post the trip in some appropriate category that already exists. We could go crazy dividing and subdividing topics but still, if you just check "unread posts" every day you see all the posts. Read the posts that interest you, leave or mark as read the others etc.

Indeed it is! I wonder if it would be better to have a moderator make a separate category for Road Trips so everyone can post their individual trip reports or say just a thread in Uncategorized where everyone posts. I would prefer the first one.

Well I guess Uncategorized would be the most appropriate one then. I just thought having it's own category would make it a little more organized. :think:

I think some great stories could be told! Camping, Overlanding, Car Shows, etc etc... with all the diverse members we have it would be great to see the Astro/Safari's in use!

Ok…. So I was reading a thread earlier, and noticed it was in the “road trips” folder, but mysteriously I can’t seem to find it now…

Where is it? Was I dreaming?

I was on a Great Road trip 3 weeks ago! NH Mountains/Camping/Scenery. HOGS!
This Idea needs to be Revived! dunno if you were dreaming, but it surely makes a
lot of sense to have a place to Post "Success Stories" ! After all the hard work
put into these Astro-Safari creatures!

Just got back from a 1700 mile round trip.. South Florida to VA and back.
Did a lot of riding.. stayed in a friend's cabin in the mountains near Blue Ridge Parkway.
Van ran perfect.. highway travels were smooth and uneventful.
Next "camping" trip is in late October.. van is always ready to go.

This section would be used way more if it was maybe 1 menu deep or within reach of the masses. You may notice the last true Post regarding this topic was prior to 2019!

It is listed under "EVENTS"... which I think is misleading.
When I think of "Events".. I think of an organized event, fliers, dates, locations.
I certainly didn't know it was there
No big deal.. but likely why it isn't being used much
I guess it's probably the best place to put it
