I currently live in the UK but moving to a Ski Resort in Sweden this November. I am looking at buying an old Astro (1995/97) and driving over (via Ferry).
I have a couple of concerns that I hope you may have a better insight on:

1) Is the Astro suited to COLD climates?
Average temperature at the resort:
December: -6°C
January: -8°C
February : -7°C
March: -4°C

2) Are spare parts readily available? (In Europe).

Many thanks,
Tom

cant help you with the cold issue but I was reading on this forum that even your fellow UK members having hard time getting parts in UK . I doubt it you could get parts in Europe . They dont even like this van in there , eats too much gas , but probably u know that better , even higher gas prices then here as always

My Astro sits outside and starts fine in -30 Deg. C temperatures. Make sure the coolant mixture can handle the cold temperatures and that the battery isn't too old. I use Mobil 1 5W-30 synthetic motor oil in the winter.
