99 with 106,000 miles.
I don't drive it a lot but yesterday I was driving it and the SECURITY light came on.

I stopped at a few different places, shut it off and
Automotive parking light Tire Wheel Car Vehicle

it came on after a few miles it was kind of sporadic what is up with that?

All the other gages are fine and the Van runs good should I be concerned?

It is the OEM key and Fob.
I will check the Circuit breaker tomorrow, but I don't believe that is it.

The only thing I did the day before was hook it up to a 1.75 AMP battery charger

Thanks

The fuse is fine.

I used a spare key that I had made at Ace Hardware years ago and it worked but I did not drive far and the light stayed off.

When I bought miy van, the PO mentioned once in a while it would crank and not start I discovered one key was more reliable, until one day it decided to not start at all. After much head scratrching and diagnostic effort , I decided the passlock sytem was keeping me from starting the motor. I had a new key cut from the factory code, by the dealer. That was several years ago, and the best 10 or 12 dollars I have spent on the vehicle. Not a single hiccup since then!
If you current key looks at all worn, I strongly recommend getting a new key cut from the factory code. Then get copies made, get rid of any keys that look warn.

Thanks
So even though my Ace Hardware key works (I only started it up, have not driven it), I should go to the dealer for the factory code key?

Passlock does not use coded keys.

Anything that turns the key barrel will do - as long as the mechanism is working properly.

Is the van refusing to start or just that the light is coming on sometimes?

I would respond, 'not necessarily'.
My symptoms did not include the Security Light.
The intermittent 'crank and no start' can be caused by several things, most of which I had proven to not be related.
I had even purchased a replacement ignition switch, because I had come to the conclusion the problem was related to that component.
When the engine would not start, occasionally the motor would 'kick' once or twice as I released the key from the crank position to the run position.
That led me to more time in the manuals to find out just how that Passlok system worked.
The sensor for the Passlok is in ign lock housing, and it is apparently activated by the key being inserted.
The badly warn key was not reliably activating that sensor.
The new key, cut from code, was very noticably different in the heights of the raised portions of the key.
If your van has a lot of miles and the key looks warn, I would recommend having a new key cut for the original code.
Every time a key is duplicated, you just get a copy of a used key. You do not get back an original profile.🙂

"Is the van refusing to start or just that the light is coming on sometimes?"

It starts and runs great, Saturday was the FIRST TIME I had seen the SECURITY light.

I stopped a couple times, turn the engine off, light was gone then after a few miles it would come back on.

That is what has me concerned.

I don't want to drive to a remote area and then have it not start.
I guess I need to drive it with the copy key from Ace I had done YEARS ago and drive to work.

There are DTC B codes specific to that system, use a reader that will read them and see if anything comes up.

Glad to hear that worked for you.

If your van has a lot of miles and the key looks warn, I would recommend having a new key cut for the original code.
This can solve a lot of issues, as soon as you get a new one cut by code and verify it works keep it as a backup so you have an original. Make a cheap copy of it and use the copy until you need another one.
