Got a 2000 astro with 20K miles on it....no shit

I'm on my 3rd set of wheels and still getting a vibration......usually it starts at 40 to 45 then disappears until 65 to 75 then its gone again.,

it is like a pulse....2-3 seconds of shake then 10 seconds of ok...then over again.

i dont think its the wheels....but what the f#@$K is it????

its makin me mental.

A few thoughts...one is U-joints, the other is driveshaft balance.

There are more possibilities but those are the 2 that I can remember right now...

I have a 1997 cargo safari. It starts at 40mph and gets to humm at 70-75. Pulled the front driveline no fix. pulled the rear driveline rebalanced still there. could it be an out of round brake drum?

You didn't say if it is a AWD or not.But if it is,all kinds of weird things like this will happen if you don't have a matched set of tire sizes front to back.

Does it change at all when you rotate tires? You've changed rims- tires too? (Dunlops have a reputation for being out of round). Have you checked the front end & wheel bearings?
