Okay so yesterday i went to paint my rims and i jacked the rear end up by the axle and put it on jackstands. when i got the passenger rear wheel off i noticed that the fiberglass leaf was split in 2 .. well almost. i noticed that my van sat a little funny but i never could see what was going on. so my question is where can i get replacements or should i put something else in place of it or what. should i replace them in pairs? and how hard of a job is that going to be? also how long can i drive with it like that.. is it going to break completely and cause a wreck?

Well you can got to the U-Pull it yard and get a replacement for that one,but when that happened to mine I just found a 96 model and got the steel springs and swapped both of them into my van. Be sure and get the shackles for the front hangers, the back ones you can use whats there.

JC Rip-me-off (Whitney?) had some too for cheaper, but were a bit sparse on details on what was included in the kit and what wasn't.

The Auto and Truck Springs guys listed every piece and have details on what you get. That's something that I'll pay a little for the peace of mind for.

I need the springs too, but it will have to wait for the cash :crying:

I have a 98, same thing. recently changed the shock for the spring loaded sense trac ones and then BOOM, passenger side bangs & bottoms out on any knook and cranny on the road. How did you notice the cracked leaf spring and how do I know if they are fiber glass?
I am glad I read your post though.
