125000 miles on 1998 Gmc safari is sticking in second when i suddenly stop and only once in a while it will work great changed oil seemed to be normal anybody got any ideas what to try next .

i would check to see if the vehicle speed sensor is working correctly.

Any ideas where the speed sensor is located in the transmision.

the last plug farthest back on the tail of the trans

If that doesnt get it, check the ignition switch also...
