Whats the stock exhaust diameter of an 02 astro.

If i put a magnaflow under there, would it sound like a nice v8?
A good way to find out is to go to your favorite parts store website and look up the part numbers that it calls for, then search those part numbers and it will show you what size they are.
Example:
Walker Quiet-Flow 3 Mufflers 21391 = Muffler, Quiet-Flow 3, 3 in. Inlet/2 1/2 in. Outlet, Steel, Aluminized, Chevy, GMC, Astro, Safari,

Or go outside and measure it ;)

Because different parts stores have different measurements and i know someone here would know before i have to climb under the van.

That is because there are different ones on them, So actually looking is the only way to know what yours came with.
x2, esp when you see multiple sizes in the parts results, you need to verify what you have.

Checking really is the best. Have you owned the vehicle from new? If not then it may have been changed or modified by a previous owner. Or maybe even the OEM threw a different one in there for some reason, it has been known to happen.

But hey, you can save yourself the 3minutes of going out there and looking under it, and then spend extra time getting the correct parts once the ones you ordered don't fit. It's all about personal choices.

I'm thinkin' if you don't know how to figure out what size your pipe is, you aren't going to have a good experience trying to change out your muffler. I'm a good welder and I know how to measure an exhaust pipe. Still I take my exhaust welding work to a local MexiShop.

I believe that is going to take a bit more than simply replacing the muffler.

I hear that slapping on 2 more cylinders works wonders though ;)

Hang two big mufflers under there. Don't even plumb them in. Van will still be quiet. At stop lights, roll down your window and yell "SORRY ABOUT THE NOISE". People will think it's because you have a big V8 with a lot of mufflers. Get chicks.

Sorry.. but you asked.
Good luck!
