so i have been reading about the headers on the v8 swap and the almost unanimous decision is to get the headman headers 68600. is for fitment issues or power gains. i am ordering the motor mounts in the morning but wonder if the stock manifolds will fit the dog house. i have a complete 1996 k1500 with the vortec 350. i will be installing this in my 95. wiring harness 4l60 nv241 as well. this way i will have the 2wd option as well as low range. i know as with all vehicles and hobbies, and since this is both for me, its pay to play. i am not opposed to buying the headers but would prefer the torque from the manifolds since it will primarily be used for 4x4ing. will they fit i dont want to be off fractions of an inch and hit the doghouse or body underside when i remate the body to the cradle. all help is appreciated and urgent as well. the build bug has bit me and i have to get started before the motivation leaves again

With a very simple 2" lift,I think either headers or manifolds wouldn't be a issue.I am thinking you are going to drop the sub frame anyways,so to do the lift then is a easy route to take.

BTW-with 4.56 gears, headers would positivity impact power output.

i will lift it but not in the way stated. i am going to build a subframe connectors like high power f body cars get. then a radius arm drop down bracket for the front axle.

also you stated 4.56 will have an impact on power with headers. is that in a positive way or neg? it will be on 37 inch tires. the radio i picked will be slightly less than stock.
