The driver's side sun visor on my '93 LT doesn't want to rotate down. It requies a lot of force to "flap" it and it makes an awful noise. I think I sprayed WD40 into it a long time ago and it didn't help (may have made it worse). Does anyone know how these things are constructed, or have any ideas on fixing it without having to re-cover it?

It is also fairly difficult to rotate front to side and back. When removed from the van, it is impossible to turn the bracket by hand.

Blaster Silicone spray seems to have fixed the vertical flap action.

The front-to-side rotation is still difficult. Lubricants don't seem to help.

You might be better off just replacing it. They can corrode inside and eventually just break loose.

Update: A few days after I sprayed it with the silicone (from the back) it loosened up and now swings front-to-side pretty well, not quite like new but good enough.
