Okay it died! "The Van " died on my way to work today. I think i am done and I am looking for another one. I am addicted and I need another one quickly. The current dead one has way too much too fix even if I put a new motor in it. The previous owner was very disrespectful, a lot of rust and just general mistreatment of the vehicle. Not sure why anyone would want to mistreat such a wonderful (but frustrating) vehicle. anyway was just vent to those that would know best. My wife thinks I am crazy but knows there will be another astro/safari in the stable. My friends all think I have lost it to go get another! But what do they know. Hopefully I will have another in under a week. Has to be all wheel drive.

Hi CDGsafari98
Sorry to hear it as well. Maybe you can sell parts off it. I know people do look around for them. Please keep us updated, Thanks. :)

selling parts off of it? Nah at the moment I doubt it. "The Van" will hopefully become a member of the V8 Club!!!!!!! If for some reason, i cant afford to keep that going then it will depend on what the next van might need. then I would consider selling parts.

Astro 355 I am in central New Jersey.

If I were close would you teach me your skills? I wish. I will need some serious help to do the v8 swap. I will have to learn to weld as the van will need a lift of 4 inches at least, and a ligfht bar for the front, and that is just the tip of the iceberg.

Welding is fun. The better your prep work, the better your welding will be.

I don't mind helping others. Its just ashame I don't have any of the astro/safari brethren closer.

The main thing I would tell you is that these vans are like any other vehicles on the road. If you can do a mod to one vehicle, you can do it to the next.
