Okay, so here I am on a sony vaio laptop with a touch pad as the mouse. So I am scrolling down the page and all the sudden the whole pages shrinks down so I can not even read it. I close the browser and re open the page and the page is still real small. So I open another page and it is regular size.
So I have to mess with this touch pad, using four fingers untill I get the page back to normal size. That is not something I need, is there a way to shut that function off? I have windows 7.

If you are using Firefox just go to "view" and zoom in

With Win 7 I can hold down the 'Control" key and use the scroll mouse and make the screen go from very tiny to very large just by using the scroll wheel on the mouse ,, I don't like using the touch pad mouse so I just plug in a usb scroll mouse

On my lap top I put to fingers on the touch pad simultaneously then either spread them apart or close them together to zoom the screen in and out.

Jason- I screwed with that four like five minutes. Now I really feel like an idiot. I have been using the touch pad so long I just can not go back to the mouse.

No, that would feel good to do for sure. I am going to take this dang computer back. They over charged me 100 dollars. I guess you never should let your guard down. The return counter at wally world is going to be sick tomorrow.

I'm pretty sure you can accomplish the same thing by holding the control key and dragging your finger on the side of the touch pad like you would when scrolling, no reason to hook up a mouse.

Or bring up the keypad and hold the Cntrl key and + or - it does the same thing. My browser remembers the sizes of certain pages so when I go back it's bigger or smaller than others.

Ctrl with + or - will do that, and if you hold Ctrl and the number zero it will reset it to the default size.

Ctrl + = zoom in
Ctrl - = zoom out
Ctrl 0 = reset to default

Its kinda funny seeing older folks trying to use technology. Like my dad using the desktop. He was use to using the GPS with touch screen, so I come in, and he is poking the firefox icon with his finger, wondering why it isn't opening. I had to tell him it wasn't touch screen.
