Hi all,

I'm trying to track down a vacuum leak somewhere between my rear heater's dash switch and the coolant valve under the hood. I've got vacuum out of the switch like it should be, but then the lines vanish into the dark depths of the dash - ugh.

I know that vacuum leaks are common on these vans - any tips/tricks/suggestions on how to trace the vacuum line without ripping the entire dash out? What's frustrating is that this had no leak all of a month ago, but broke sometime between then and now - grrrrr.

Thanks!

Disconnect a line and blow smoke into it. See where the smoke pours out of the dash.

Puff puff pass...

Most commonly the vacuum leaks happen in the engine compartment and not under the dash. Start with the line coming off the intake manifold/throttle body. That line will connect to a T that goes into the passenger compartment.
