Do you know what numbers (HP, Torque) you would gain with that setup?
I don't have anything yet, but any time you upgrade to multiport, there's always a larger window for performance.
I've also looked into doing my own setup as well.
I'm hoping for better performance, smoother runability, and a more user friendly setup.
GM left us in the dark, both four and V8 got real multiport, even Buicks 3800 got it.
Why this "poppet crap"?

Well I was looking at it as, that's 210-230 STOCK.
The potential for more power starts there. Instead of starting at 160-190 then building up.
If I can perfect a true setup, for this change over, the possibilities are endless.
When working with true MPFI the sky's the limit. Larger TB, Larger Injectors, Turbo etc.....
Plus better fuel mileage.

i think marine engines are ported a little different. and they dont have all the emissions crap on them ;)
I do know that MOST marine engines have totally different powerbands than street motors

Hi Positive P
I would like to know if it's do able. It would be nice if it was a straight bolt on, at least the pattern is correct with that manifold. I guess the question here, is the extra cost worth the extra gain you can get out of it. Please keep us updated P, inquiring minds need to know, hehe. Thanks. :)

Yes, the intake for the Vortec heads is a direct bolt on. I spoke with a guy who removed the EFI on his boat and added an Edelbrock 4bbl intake. He says that he saw a dynoed 250hp and 289 lbs.ft. with his set up. He added a cam though. Don't know the specifics.

As for the non Vortec heads, there's something about two different heads. A 8 degree and a 30 degree intake flange. From what I understand there's not much different between the heads, it's more of a year thing.
I've heard speek of a S-10 guy who did the swap with the marine intake using megasquirt and a turbo. But I can't find him on the net.
There's talk about that he supposedly made 340hp on a miledly worked bottom end.
I'm still hunting all the details. I won't rest till I have all the info.

}":1w0erq1f]why not just v8 and supercharge for the same cost?
Because he wants to do it with a V6. There's nothing wrong with that. Sure, you could get more horsepower/torque with the V8 for the same amount of money, but that's not the point.

Im not saying its a bad idea. Im just thinking cost effectively.
I think you should find out the power spectrum of the boat intake and ecm and be sure that you arent going to have a super powerful v6 that only makes baller power in a narrow powerband and base your decisions off of it

Staying with the V6 is the challenge.
Hot-Rodding the stock motor is how performance get's addicting.
Going V8 is the easy way out.
But when you've done all you can to the 6, then swapping to the 8 and starting all over again.

Not really on topic, but check out this '98 Vortec boat motor with a carb.

I always love a water valve on an engine. But they sure know how to keep an engine from overheating and the temperature even across the entire block.

Hey guys, I need your help.
I'm still working on this, and I hope someone here has what I'm looking for.
I need a pic. I need someone with a TBI intake as clean as possible.
I need a shot very similar to the one below, as clear as possible.
Thanks guys.

i think i can help, as for the old poppet style are crap, the new replacements are efi style.

as for the 4 barrel intake motor, i have used the intake on 1996 and newer motors with a tbi set up bolted on, runs like a champ.

and the multiport efi setup can be wire in, my buddy did it last year runs great, all get his notes.
