Does anyone have, or heard of anyone putting a turbo in there Astro. I was thinking it wouldnt be hard, And it would be pretty sweet. Theres the GMC Jimmy Typhoon 4.3 Turbo. I was thinking about doing this swap, Astro's come AWD so it would basically be the same as the Typhoon or Syclone. But id name it the "Tystro" if i ever get the time and extra money for this transformation.

Hi todd08
Turbo? Hmmm, Their was some talk about this on the old forum.
If you check it, you might find something. Personally speaking, I don't think
their is enough air circulation to keep them cool enough (turbos) in these in-closed
compartments. I believe the application your mentioning is a "wet" design which
would help, but turbos generate "a lot" of heat which in turn could be a real problem
for other components that rely on the same source of air for cooling as the turbo would.
Just a thought.

This is a previous? member of the board. (could still be here) I believe his log in was 97turboastro or something like that. I think it was a single turbo not dual but I could be wrong.

Rocke,
Yeah-you could be right about that. You see where he on the clip starts the burnout and puts on the brakes. Then you really lays on it to smoke them up.My guess is the turbo didn'y spool up enough at first. :layrubber:
