I have a 2005 Safari with a paint code of U382A. However, none of the paint suppliers have this code. The closest is W382E.

Has anyone else seen this code?

To the best of my knowledge, the "U" stands for "upper", indicating a two-tone exterior paint. 382 should be Pewter metallic.

Do you have a photo of your your SPID (RPO) label?

On some of the vehicles, they don't list a lower if it's a single color.

The first two say BC (base coat) / CC (clear coat) and then U xxxx

In your case the 382A is the paint color and I agree it's Pewter Metallic

Ok thanks. The only option is 382E not A. I'll spend the few bucks and go for it.

Are you trying to find a "rattlecan" of paint or were you trying to get someone to do blend some paint for you.

It's possible that the specific color code is not available in the rattle cans but if you went to a shop that mixes paint they would have the exact blend listed for that paint code.

of course you also have to account for paint fade over time so no matter what you do, unless you get a custom paint job or a real good shop to do the work, you will almost always have a slight color variance.

Its not pewter I have the same problem
