I noticed my Windows 7 OS was getting slower...and sslloowwer everyday. So, I decided to test out the latest Ubuntu OS. I have used Ubuntu in the past on an old thinkpad. I must say, this OS is pretty nice. Very fast. I think I will be keeping this one for awhile...plus its free! More money for my van!

Conical has very good support for Ubuntu. In spite of some of its limitations, it just works right out of the box and I think that the average user can pick it up very quickly.
Yeah I agree! I'm surprised that more people haven't installed this OS. Why pay so much for Windows when you can get Ubuntu for free! I like how they have a little app store, makes it much easier to find software. PLUS, its almost impossible to get a virus compared to Windows.

I like Ubuntu, but on the three different computers I have used it on, the wireless drivers are a PITA, so I keep putting off getting it on this one, because the internet is pretty much all I use.

Hey guys.. for the sake of discussion here, it's not necessary to quote every post you are replying to. It just makes it a big headache for anyone who has to read it.

It's even harder to read on a smart phone or a tablet because it's harder to see the shading.. making you think that you are reading the same post over and over again.

The only time you really need to quote a post is if you are replying to something 3 to 4 posts back or if you are commenting on something specific within a post. But please do not quote the previous post if you are replying to it.

I tried 12.04. Had major problems keeping connected to the internet and sound wouldn't work. Went back to PCLOS and have no problems with it.

Still use windows 7 for a majority of things though. Especially since sketchup isnt on linux yet
