Does any one know where I can get Under Hood Insulation to add to the van.?
Is it listed on any GM part list?
Automotive tire Hood Motor vehicle Sky Automotive lighting
Car Vehicle Grille Automotive lighting Automotive tire

Has anyone added their own version?

Salvage yard is about the only place for these old vans as far as stock stuff. But there are companies that sell an aluminum foil type stuff that you can buy and cut to fit. Some even have one sides peel and stick. I used some on my doghouse because the stock stuff was long gone. Ebay has it.

Hi gwd. I am going to be dismantling a safari van as soon as the weather breaks. I am in London Ontario. Are you close?

Close but still sorta far. I live in Montreal.
If you save it then maybe a trip to southern Ontario will need to be made.
If you are travelling to Montreal or Ottawa or some were half way I can also meet you.
I am in no rush for it. Only if things fall into place and we can meet.
Maybe you have other things on the van that you will dispose of.

London is a long drive. I have a neighbor who has a son that lives in Ottawa. I'll ask if he would be willing to take something and meet you. I have 3 vans to dismantle, so I have parts. I'll only get to one this spring. Maybe I'll do another in the fall.
Have you looked at GMpartsprime?
That would be great for the Ottawa choice.
You wouldn't have an electric seat part with frame. The seat is not really needed. The seat frame is relatively small.
The problem of ordering parts from GMpartsprime is shipping cost from USA. We do not have that option here in Canada to pick locally from a major city or have low cost shipping option for Canadians from GMparts.

It would at least give you a part number that you can search on ebay/etc.

That is a good idea.
Thanks for helping.

I finally found a donner van that has the hood insulation available.
I removed from the van then I washed and degreased it.
I sprayed rust proofing on under side of hood.
There was some already , so I added another top coat.
The plugs holding the insulation came out easily without breaking with panel removal tool.
See sequence pictures bellow.

I used this stuff. It works better at sound deadening than stock.
