Hi All, just got my 97 Safari, for its age knock on wood its running well. (197,000 miles). But the heater just blows defrost.
I know it has to do with some of the little hoses but not sure which ones and how many. ID of hose seems to be 3/16". Non of the auto shops here had that so for now got clear vinyl tubing from Lowes. I replaced one little short piece and managed to break something else that had an even smaller tube. Have no idea what that is. the head of its L shaped.
Does anyone have a good exploded view of where the lines come from/go to?
Thanks in advance

This fixes quite a few. Wheel Automotive parking light Tire Car Vehicle
The last thumbnail is what you should type into the search bar exactly as it’s written. You will get a full tutorial on how to including part numbers. When you pull the old one out tie a string to ittto help fish the new one through. I took off my dog house because my hand are to big to get at both ends.

The search function will be very useful, but some times it is fussy about what you put in. Multiple tries are sometimes needed with slightly different variations in word choice.
In my experience, if a hose does not come off pretty easily, is often better to slice the hose lengthwise with a razor knife.
2 degrees....yes, be glad if you get any heat.
Where are you located?

Thanks for the information Rod, I'm up in Alaska. Anchorage. Its warmed up to 9 so far. I'll work outside at 20 but not much colder unless its an emergency. It looks like one of the pieces that just broke when I touched it can be replaced with just a hose. Don't need the fancy part. It has a 90 rubber fitting at both ends and a tiny tiny rubber hose between them. I'm slowly figuring out the best way to search.. just start typing in words that might work LOL
cheers!

I think I have seen 5/32 hose mentioned also...just a hair larger than 1/8 . 1/8 is very close to 3mm.
I think I bougjt some 3mm metric nylon tubing (designed to handle some fuel pressure), for another project, and it worked for my needs in place of 1/8 inch vacuum tubing.

On that hose part number in my post it comes with both fancy ends. For 15 bucks I would not muck around. Those 45 degree cups have a purpose. Best wishes. Rod is right you should pick up some lengths of vac. Line because vacuum is everything to these baby’s. GM 15967970
