I recently started using the iTop VPN from Iobit.
I now get the following when I get on the site.

Error 1020 Ray ID: 6c53df2fee2c54d3 • 2021-12-29 14:55:52 UTC
Access denied

When I turn off the VPN I can access the site with no issues.
Clearly the site is blocking the VPN servers.

I understand the necessity for security. Why else would I use the VPN!
Site access should not be restricted because of a VPN server connection.

It's a tough call and will 100% depend on the type of VPN that you are using.

It's kinda crazy that all of these companies use these services from places like Cloudflare, knowing that x percent are going to be blocking regular users. Of course a minority will complain about it and just go elsewhere instead of 'reporting' it. So then Cloudflare can say, we blocked x number of malicious attempts, makes their stats look good, regardless of how many of those were real users.

The fact is that a majority of comanies don't want you to use a VPN, because they want to track you as much as possible between sites :)

In an online world supported by advertising where YOU are the product being sold, gathering as much data about you as possible makes your data more valuable to sell :)

Try a different IP via the VPN. Spammers use VPNs like crazy and its possible the IP you're using is blacklisted within Cloudflare. We have thousands of users that use VPN without issue, sometimes you just need to switch out the location / IP. Heck, we have employees here at VS that use VPNs regularly...so Cloudflare and our sites will play nice with them 90% of the time.

It seems the issue is with the smart location auto connect feature in iTop.
When I switch to one of the VIP servers there is no problem.

This just posted through the Ashburn VIP server

That's what I'm saying, it does matter the provider, free vs paid sometimes matters, level of service, like the dedicated 'home ip' premium feature that some have. It all makes a difference in how often you get blocked and have to change your IP/location/provider.

Just like this last round of PS5s at Walmart where they blocked virtually all VPN providers during the sale, your experience will vary.

Just reconfigured to eliminate the free servers. Auto connect will only go to VIP servers now.

I have IP vanish and never get blocked to my knowledge. I have it because when I travel and for my firestick mainly. back in 2019 I was at an airport and used my laptop next thing I know someone got my debit card info and attempted to use it all over the place but luckily I have a great credit union and they caught the fact that it was being used in a state I never went to. and stopped it right away-no charge to me at all. So I got IP vanish right after that. Never had a problem since. Mark

Walmart has been way more aggressive lately, have to do the 'press here to verify' crap, oh well, just pushes me more towards other retailers. Never been blocked on Amazon while using a VPN, so there is that :)

The annoying part is being able to access a site one day, but getting blocked the next.
