I'm new to this forum, but not to cars in general. I worked my way up from lube tech to journeyman tech to general manager to a franchise of 5 shops. I am still active on a Mustang forum, but due to a bad back, I had to sell my 03 pony, and I got an awesome deal on my 99 Astro. Itt has the Vortec 4.3 and no mods. I know with the Stang, I had a DiabloSport Preditor tuner, but does anyone make a tuner for the Astro? I don't want a chip, I want a tuner that I can plug into the OBDII port and change the engine and tranny parameters as I want to. And suggestions or sources would be greatly apreciated! Thanks

Why not just slap a V8 in?
I did
Same here. You will always get more bang for your buck when modding a V8 compared to a V6. I'm not saying it can't be done, it will just cost you more.

Thanks guys I'm not in any position to do a V8 swap. I'm 100% disabled. I can barely crawl into the van. :banghead:
I'll take the other advice tho. Any sources for the 4.3 S-10/Jimmy tuner? DiabloSport? SCT? Hypertech? I definatly want more than 165 at the crank!!!! My V6 stang ended up doin 14's with 214 at the rear wheels. I know the Astro isn't anywhere like a Stang, but damnit I can't have volkswagons passin me! :banghead: :layrubber:

Well, the car I had before the van was an 87 T/A that I put a 3.4L V6 in. It sounded like a V8 and the mustang guys hated losing to it. A lot of work was done to it and it handled a 150 shot with ease. Ran low 13's and would have been quicker if it would have not burned with clutches like it did. :screaming:
