Hi grandamle91
I can see the concept, I would have to see Independent lab tests for that amount of gain they advertise though. Maybe a 2-5 hp increase is more in the realms of reality than 10 - 15 for a spacer kit. That's one of the reasons VW bugs got such great gas mileage (long intakes).

Would you need the line extensions if you raised it? It's in "small" print just underneath the Buy It Now price. I wouldn't buy into it myself, that will be your decision if you decide to or not.

I'm sure others will chime in if they can.:)

Spacers do work. 5-10 horse gained is reasonable but you have to remember that the gain is based on the engine its being put on. Like Matrixx already mentioned, long intake runners promote better fuel effeciency. Also, the spacer helps dissipate heat meaning that the fuel will be cooler which is why it can generate gains in HP. $40 doesn't seem bad but there maybe linkages and hoses that you may have to adapt since the TB will sit higher.

You could make your own, we used to do that in high school. We used wood. No, the engine doesn't get hot enough to ignite the wood and the best part was the carb was so cold.

I have used tbi spacers on v-6 explorers before. I don't know about a 10-15 horsepower gain. You may get somewhere around 5-7. The big difference I noticed with them was the torque or low end power gain. It definately made a difference with a v-6 in a heavy vehicle. You will need to check to see if you need anything to make the linkages and fuel lines any longer. I know I had to get a bracket for the linkage but it was on a multiport engine so the fuel lines wasn't a problem. Hope this helps. :D

Thanks for all the quick reply's, i was wondering because I've heard they work and don't and this one look kinda home homemade. Hell for 40 bucks I'll buy it. its half the price of a high brand one.

Thank you everyone

I have an Airaid spacer and air cleaner assembly on my '95 GMC 1/2 ton pick up and I agree with the solid torque improvement. I can tow more in overdrive and save gas. The gas mileage seems unchanged without the trailer.
