Under the passenger side kick panel is a flat box with foam wrapped around it. It has black/white, black, blue (2), and orange (2) wires going to it. What is it? I'm having some kind of starting problem and if I tap that it seems to get the fuel pump priming. '95 Safari.

Just a thought here. If your by-passing the fuel pump relay when you tap into that unit and get the fuel pump to prime, wouldn't the relay be the item to check for fault? just a thought.

I don't think he/she is tapping into the unit, I think he/she is tapping the unit as in hitting it to get it to work.

Yes, I'm tapping it with a screwdriver handle. It might all be for nothing because I guess it is looking like it's the fuel pump. I guess it was just wishful thinking and a coincidence.
