What does everyone do with the stock exhaust pipes/muffler/converter after upgrading?

If you are completely happy and satisfied with the new setup and foresee no reason why you would revert back to the original stuff, I would junk it. The converter is worth some cash because the price of the honeycomb material inside of it is recycleable. Of course assuming that the platinum is still inside of the converter.

Cut the pipes off close to the body of the converter. I brought one in once and was told that had I not cut it as close as I had, I would have only gotten $8 instead of $75 for it. They need to be able to see what's inside. The rest is scrap steel.

yeah converters are only worth about $20 around here these days.. because of the economy and they lowered the price due to all the thieves stealing cats.

I've heard of CAT's being stolen before, but never understood why. Now I know.... and knowing is 1/2 the battle.....

Almost- we DID cut the pipes close enough so they could see inside. Had we not cut them, we'd have gotten the $8.

List it on Craigslist in the free section. I bet there's scrap metal guys out there just like here- It'll be gone in no time.
