I wanted to start fixing up my Safari and well what would look good.
I've had this for about ten years now and getting sick of the look but hate to trade it in or sell it as I won't get much for it

I was thinking of a exterior sun visor ---rims what size ?----Graphics ?----rear wings/spoiler --etc
anyone have ideas or pics of a Safari done up but not too done up as money eventually becomes a factor.

Heres my van 1999 gmc safari
Thanks
Dan

Its all about your taste and what you like because your the one whos gonna be looking at it everyday. If it was me id start with some LED tail lights and some HIDs for lighting. Rim size is your choice you can look on tire rack for some rim options and kind of get an idea of what theyd look like on your van http://www.tirerack.com/upgrade_garage/ ... toModClar=.
The exterior sun visor i saw on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/LUND-STA ... ccessories but its a bit pricey. And id stay away from any sort of graphic. IMO they make a car look cheap and ugly 90% of the time. A suggest you look through the gallery here or cardomain http://www.cardomain.com/MakeModel/GMC/ ... /1996/2008 to look at some other safaris and get some ideas.
Hope this helps! :)

well some ideas i would do and already did on my 99 astro.
1- went from 15 to 16 inch classic cragar rims, also wider tires. makes the van look beefer.
2- took out the third seat and modified a used third seat i got from the junkyard to platform my speakerbox. if you ever needed more passenger space you would just swap out the seats.
3- painted the front grill black, added more contrast to the front of van istead of the boring grey grill.
4- upgradded all lights with led bulbs.

small simple. somtimes less is more. but good luck with the upgrades. i love my astro. its ahame they stopped making them.

Your Van looks pretty cool already...nice color and running boards. I say whatever you do make sure its tasteful and suttle. I would almost be tempted to see how some nice Charcoal or Black rims look on your Van. 17" or 18" maybe? Something with a little depth to them. If you go with bigger cooler rims I would think a tinting the front windows might add some coolness to it too. Maybe some tint across the top of the windshield too?
