Hi Vanfans!

I have a couple stuck injectors and obvious injector spider leaks in my 2001 Safari.

Who has replaced their old scfi fuel injection spider assm with poppet valves with the new style mfi upgrade that doesn't use poppet valves?
How much did you pay for it and how much work/time was it to install? Did you need a different mounting bracket too?

I have no doubt it runs better and is overall more reliable without the poppet's various issues anymore!

am gething ready to do mine complete injection spider upgrade. my 96 safari has 144k and my fuel pressure regulator went bad.
I have a hard start cold in the morning. dealer price for the complete is about $300 to $400 i ordered mine thru gmpartsdirect.com. excelent prices and all new ac delco parts. GREAT SITE I RECOMEND. SPYDER UPGRADE AC DELCO NUMBER IS #12568332 ALSO WILL NEED GASKET KIT #17113215. when u enter the number for the spider kit is says injector but its the hole assebly dont think its just one. these numbers are gm numbers. good luck with ur new upgrade.

keep on trucking

vission34,

I'd already planned to get my injector assm. from GM Parts Direct too. They have the best price I can find on the net.

Do you know if you need the new mounting bracket that is included in their "complete upgrade kit" or are you able to use your original bracket? The bracket adds $30+ to the price over buying just the gaskets and injector assm and is also reflected in the complete kit's higher price.

Yes, I'm chea... uh.. "thrifty".. ;) . $30 changes my plugs.

gmpartsdirect has always had a slow processing and shipping issue. In the meantime I'm using my old '86 Honda GoldWing or '96 Dodge Neon which are both gas mizers. But I'll need to get the van back together in a month as I'll need it for hauling stuff again.

I found mine from a guy on ebay.. Delphi part and I think it cost like $250ish... Honestly, it was considerably easier to install than I had thought it would be,given the room you have. If I remember correctly tho, I removed the a/c hose from the compressor( I had an a/c leak at the time).
