Search the site. There are a bunch of people how dropped small block v8 Chevy motors in.
There are quite a few that posted pictures and information to get mounts and to get the tranny working with carb motors systems without matching computer.
There is information on the oil pans for AWD and other stuff.

Oil pans are the issue with any V8 in an AWD
Of course there are ways around this

The 2 biggest issues I see will be oil pan clearance for the AWD, and the intake/aspiration. IIRC 91 V8s were TBI, the 01 4.3 wasn't. It's PROBABLY just an issue of installing the proper intake and injection system on the V8 and changing the chip, but don't quote me on that.

The LS designation on our vans designates the Luxury Sport trim level. The LS engine was never a factory option for the Astro/Safari line.

Here's the thread for my 95 V8 swap. It's long winded, but I tried to post pics, part numbers, and sources along the way.

Thanks for the link Big_kid. Was your G20 a 5.0L. I have a G25 conversion van, only a G25 because it is a conversion van. Heavier suspension etc to accommodate heavier loads for travel. but has a G20 drive train. How did you get around oil pan issues and intake clearances as others have pointed out as problem points? Are you running 2 control boxes, one or the van and one for the V8?
My original post should have said " should I use a 350/5.7L V8?"
