Hi all,

I don't post too much on this site as i spend far too much time reading it im afraid.

Sorry for the lateness of this, im sure a lot of you are trying to forget about Christmas for a few more months yet!

We took a trip to the Christmas markets last year. We stayed in Belgium but went to a couple of markets in Holland.

Pics are from Maastrcht market on Christmas eve but if you are down that way head to Valkenburg - there are three small markets, two are underground. Very touristy but worth a visit once. Only 200 miles from Calais. Thats half a tank of fuel.

It looks quiet in the photos as it was nearly closing time but before that things were very busy - especially on the ice rink.

Van ran perfectly - despite me worrying all the way there and back. No reason for it i just worry about all of my vehicles and expect the worst. Must come from owning two British bikes.....

Some from Valkenburg

Xmas presents all loaded. Wife wasn't sure they would fit!

It was fun watching the tugs work hard until we got out of the harbour. There were kids throwing up all over the place. My son did really well but he went a lovely shade of green in the end. The P&O staff were fantastic though they had a clean up crew working non stop (not just with my son - he wasn't sick constantly!)

It was a force 8 wind coming back on the ferry, they had the tugs out working hard. The van did sway a bit coming back up the A16, actually it swayed a lot which got me really worried, im not sure if it was just the bad weather or my suspension needs looking at.

Nice pics. I enjoy seeing sights from other countries, since I'll probably never get there. My wife & I hit the Christkindlmarkt in Chicago, we don't make it every year but we try. Gives us a flavor of Germany.

Glad your van did the trip w/o incident.

They try really hard with the markets.

I expect that some of the traders at your local one are German anyway. Actually one of the best European markets I have been to is in Manchester (UK not the US one!)

The van ran great and I'm sure the long drives did it the world of good. My main job with it this year will be to replace the rear leaf springs and shocks.

Yes, and because of it my wife is ordering me a cuckoo clock from Germany for my birthday, yay!
