Disassembly of front differential '90 Astro AWD

Hi. I'm new to this site and could use a little help. I've got a '90 Astro AWD with a bum front differential. I've
removed it but am having trouble cracking it open for a look. The manuals only go so far as to help you remove it, not
disassemble and repait it. Any advice on where to look for more detailed descriptions? Thanks, Jim :confused:

Sounds like you need to invest in the factory manuals for your van. Ebay sometimes has them and I think called factoryautomanuals may have them.

A differential is a device employing gears capable of transmitting torque and rotation through shafts. Essentially the differential allows each of the driving wheels to rotate at different speeds in the rear axle.
