Differential information

Hey guys!

Working on getting a limited slip rear end for my 2003 astro RWD differential. My brother in law has 2 7.5 ring gear LSD so I need to know if mine has 7.5 or 8.5 the gear ratio also if it's 28 or 30 spline.

Also my differential is a 10 bolt pattern.

I tried searching for this information but I think I'm typing it in wrong or something cause it's turning up nothing.

You will definitely have the 7.5 ( your terminology) vs. the 8.5. As for the spline count, I think it is 28 splines on the axles, but without heading out to the shed to look, I am not sure.
Somebody else will chime in soon.
(Edit) Just checked, yes 28 splines on mine...

7.5 and 7.625 are the same carrier. Ring gears both interchange. Just in case you run across that.

Rear-EndA differential is a device employing gears capable of transmitting torque and rotation through shafts. Essentially the differential allows each of the driving wheels to rotate at different speeds in the rear axle.
